We went on a lovely hike at Soaring Eagle on New Years Day. Sierra insisted on wearing her Hello Kitty backpack, which we figure is great as it will prepare her for future backpacking trips! It was a beautiful hike and we really enjoyed watching the wind move the trees and checking out all the moss. Renate just cooed away.

The coolest thing about this picture (other than Sierra) is that the Carolina sweatshirt she is wearing was actually mine when I was her age. On the back it has in block letters "Lena-Katie". It is very worn with love, and how fun that I can see my girls wear it now!
